LANCASTER, Pa.--Allergy Orchard, a Lancaster-based allergy-friendly grocery outlet, and AssureTech, a technology startup that provides solutions for allergy sufferers, are hosting an event on Sept. 7 from 11a.m.-1p.m. The event will be held at 2600 Willow Street Pike N, Willow Street, PA 17584, and is set to include information about up-and-coming technology for people with food allergies.
The event’s featured guest, Joey DiGangi, is a lifelong food allergy sufferer and founder of AssureTech. Joey will be at Allergy Orchard sharing his experiences with food allergies and talking about AssureTech’s current and upcoming software solutions. Event attendees will also have the chance to browse of Allergy Orchard’s safe-to-eat foods and enjoy special discounts.
Allergy Orchard was founded by Karen Di Pace and Tammy Gingras-Moore, two mothers who wanted to create a better way for families affected by food allergies to find safe-to-eat food. They built their brick-and-mortar store to help families easily find products to eat that are free of the most common food allergens. Allergy Orchard features over 1,000 different products from 100+ retailers.
AssureTech is a technology startup from Huntingdon, Pa., founded by recent Juniata College graduate, Joey DiGangi. The company was created to develop new software and technology to benefit people affected by food allergies. Joey graduated in May 2018 and began working in Taiwan for SaaS provider, Kdan Mobile, where he experienced a severe allergic reaction as a result of the language barrier. The experience inspired the company’s flagship application, the AssureTech Mobile App, that translates the top-9 food allergies in 30 different languages, locates the nearest hospital(s) during an emergency and can call transport if needed.
